Cultural Suitcases

Cultural Suitcases

Cultural suitcases are a great classroom resource to use as an introduction to a geography or social studies unit. The materials are selected to help students to connect with the culture of a specific country or region.

Cultural Suitcases include an assortment of materials from many countries from around the world. These materials include: arts and crafts, books and printed materials, clothing and textiles, food-related items, personal items, musical items, games, and other miscellaneous artifacts. The suitcases also include lesson plans and classroom activities to use with the materials.

Cultural suitcases have a 2-week check out policy. The borrower is responsible for checking out and returning the kit during business hours: M-F 9am-5pm. We do not mail culture kits. There is no fee for borrowing the culture kit, unless it is damaged or lost. Please ensure that care is taken with each item from the culture kit, especially during packing.

To reserve a culture kit, please contact International Outreach Education coordinator Martha Green by phone at 979-862-6700 or by e-mail at mgreen@ipomail.tamu.edu
